WELCOME to the MUNICIPAL ATTENDANT TRAINING COURSE

The Municipal Attendant Training Course is designed to ensure the safe operation of fuel handling facilitites to protect workers, the public and the environment. This course is recommended for all attendants and drivers employed at a Municipal yard or marina.

Every Municipal employee that handles/dispenses fuel or is a driver of a highway tank or mobile refuelling tank, is required by the Technical Standards & Safety Authority's Liquid Fuels Handling Code to be trained in the use of all equipment, and trained to take action in the event of a spill or leak of product, or any emergency condition.

Fuels Safety On-line Inc. is accredited by TSSA as an approved training provider.

Fuels Safety On-line Inc.'s Municipal Attendant Training Course fulfills the legal requirement for attendant  and driver training. The course consists of 7 chapters, with a short test at the end of each chapter.

System requirements

To properly view the course content and take the tests, you will need the following minimum system and software:

  • a 56Kb modem, or faster, connection to the internet.
  • Internet Explorer 11, or Safari, or Firefox are recommended browsers. However, Edge is not recommended.
  • Adobe Reader, a free download from Adobe Systems, Click here .

Course requirements

  • Liquid Fuels Handling Code 2007 would be a useful reference, but is not required to complete the course. This document may be obtained from the Canadian Standards Association on-line store at www.ShopCSA.ca  
  • You must have an email address

Time requirements

  • It should take you about 6 to 8 hours of study time to complete the course
  • You should complete the course within a period of 30 days, from start to finish
