WELCOME to the LIQUID FUELS HANDLING CODE 2017 UPDATE COURSE 

The Liquid Fuels Handling Code 2017 Update Course is designed to inform fuels handling personnel (petroleum equipment mechanics, attendants and facility managers) as to the changes and additional requirements of the new 2017 Code.

The course will highlight and, where appropriate, explain the new requirements, section-by-section. Old and new section numbering is shown for easy comparison.

The effective date for the 2017 Code was October 1st, 2017.

Fuels Safety On-line's Liquid Fuels Handling Code 2017 Update Course consists of all 9 sections of the new 2017 Code, plus a short Introduction chapter, and a chapter summarizing the Appendices.

To sign up for the course

  • The course costs $175.00 plus HST, OPCA members $125.00 plus HST.
  • For group purchases: login, go to My Courses (top left of your screen), scroll down to (Other) Available Courses, and purchase Update Course coupons for your group members. Each coupon number may then be used to pay for an Update Course.
  • You may purchase a course or coupons with VISA or MasterCard.
  • A receipt will be sent to the email address of the person who logged-in and paid for the course(s) or course coupon(s).

System requirements

To properly view the course content and take the tests, you will need the following minimum system and software:

  • a 56 Kb modem, or faster, connection to the internet
  • Internet Explorer 11, Safari, Chrome or Firefox are recommended browsers. However, Edge is not recommended.
  • Tablets or cell phones are not recommended.
  • Adobe Reader, a free download from Adobe Systems, Click here to download

Course requirements

  • You may purchase the updated Code at CSA's on-line store at www.Shop.CSA.ca  
  • You must have an email address
  • You must enter your PM Certificate Number and expiry date on the My Account Details page after you login.  

Time requirements

  • It should take you about 4 to 6 hours to complete the course, depending on your present familiarity with the 2007 Code.
