WELCOME to the SITE OPERATOR TRAINING COURSE for MUNICIPAL WORKERS

The Site Operator Training Course is designed to ensure the safe operation of fuel dispensing facilities to protect workers, the public and the environment. Certification as a Site Operator is regulated by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority, Ontario (TSSA).  Fuels Safety On-line Inc. is accredited by TSSA as an approved training organization.

In Ontario, every Municipal employee that handles/dispenses fuel or is a driver of a highway tank or mobile refuelling tank, is required by the TSSA’s Liquid Fuels Handling Code to be trained in the use of all equipment, and trained to take action in the event of a spill or leak of product or any emergency condition.

To properly view the course content and take the tests, you will need the following minimum system and software:

  • Internet Explorer 11, or Safari, or Firefox are recommended browsers. However, Edge is not recommended.

  • Liquid Fuels Handling Code 2017 - this document may be obtained from the Canadian Standards Association on-line store at www.csa.ca  
  • You must have an email address

Time requirements

  • It should take you about 8 to 10 hours of study time to complete the course
  • You should complete the course within a period of 30 days, from start to finish
